Good day Brandwag Primary Family
The year 2020 is behind us and left us with a lot of challenges for 2021. I trust that you and your families are well and that we will overcome the difficulties of the year ahead of us.
Please take note of the following information starting off the new year:
1. Re-opening of schools:
Group 1 learners will start on Monday, 15 February 2021 at 07:30.
Group 2 learners will start on Monday, 22 February 2021 at 07:30.
2. School Term
15 February 2021 – 23 April 2021 (Latest information.)
3. School hours
Grades 1-3: 07:30 – 13:00 (Monday to Friday)
Grades 4-7: 07:30 – 13:30 (Monday to Friday)
4. Collecting grade 1 stationery packs
Stationery packs can be collected on a daily basis from 09:00 – 12:00. Our friendly staff at reception is handling this.
5. Entrance to school
Just like last year, different gates are allocated for specific grades. See attached map and make sure where learners know where to go. Make sure learners are in time. It is causing a lot of administrative problems in the mornings
when parents come with all sorts of excuses.
Grade 1AA, 2AA and 3AA will enter at the bus garage with the grade 5s.
The only way that we will assist is when a parent phone the office at 051-4442276 and make the neccessary arrangements with our secretaries.
6. Collecting of textbooks and writing books
Textbooks and writing books can be collected during drive-through times at entrances allocated to each grade. This arrangement is made so that books can be covered and textbooks can be examined and necessary form can be completed. It will also help to commence with academic work as soon as possible.
Group 1 – Monday, 8 February 2021 (07:00 – 09:00)
Tuesday, 9 February 2021 (07:00 – 09:00)
Group 2 – Wednesday, 10 February 2021 (07:00 – 09:00)
Thursday, 11 February 2021 (07:00 – 09:00)
7. Isolation of learners
Brandwag Primary was truly blessed with corona cases that were kept to the minimum last year. We suggest that learners isolate themselves for 10 days, as far as possible, before returning to school.
8. Payments through the KARRI APP
To minimize handling of money and to make it as safe as possible for our learners, we request that you will download the KARRI APP. All payments can be made through this app, except for school fees. It will also assist us in the pre-screening of learners before coming to school. Please take note that it should be done every morning before 07:00.
9. School Governing Body Elections
Elections will take place in March. We ask parents who can contribute in a positive way, to avail themselves to be nominated.
10.Term programme and extra-murals
A new term programme will be handed out as soon as changes have been made. Extra-murals will only commence when new guidelines have been issued by the DoE.
