The police came to visit us today to talk to the learners about crime and what the police do in their work to prevent crime.
The following units and officers were attending and involved:
* An officer told the learners about stealing and what will happen to the thieves.
* Another officer, dressed in his armour, mask and shield, told the learners about the armour he was wearing. It protects him from head to toe.
* The K9 unit told the learners about drugs and how they use dogs to assist them by sniffing it out.
* There was also a demonstration of a dog chasing and catching a thief. A police officer was wearing protective clothing. The learners learned that the dogs are really helpful to the police.
* The horse unit visited us with two of their horses, teaching the learners about the role of horses in the police force.
* Thereafter the motorbike unit showed off with a big noise on four of their police bikes. It was very entertaining to the learners.
* Lastly the police officer let the learners listen to the different sounds of the van’s siren. The learners copied it with great amazement!
What an amazing visit it was!
We do appreciate the effort from the police units!
